Our Origins

Rockend was established in 1979 by Tony Maple-Brown. In the early years the company worked on a range of general accounting solutions before focusing on property and strata management applications. The first office was established in the small shipyard suburb of Waverton, on the north of Sydney Harbour.

Rockend has grown through selected acquisitions and by directly selling solutions to property professionals throughout Australia and New Zealand. Today the company supports over 4000 businesses employing more than 12,000 property and strata management users.

Where did the company's name Rockend come from?

This is the name of a house (now a restaurant) in Punt Road, Gladesville NSW where my great, great, grandmother – Emily Mary Barton – lived for over 40 years.  While an amazing person in her own right she is best remembered as the grandmother of Banjo Patterson who lived at Rockend in the 1870s while studying at Sydney Grammar School.
